Cvent: Helping Hoteliers Drive More Business Through the Big Business of Live Events

    Follow Cvent on :

Chris McAndrews, Vice President of Marketing, CventChris McAndrews, Vice President of Marketing

Accounting for more than USD $1 trillion dollars of economic activity worldwide, the business events industry is exactly that – big business. Its exponential growth in the past decade has been supported by the advancement of technology and software solutions that help organisations deliver more value from their events. In the fast-paced business world, live events are a crucial part of the corporate marketing strategy, but in an era where digital marketing is king, it is more crucial than ever that event planners are able to prove a substantial return on investment on these live events. Cvent, a market leader in hospitality and event management technology, is at the forefront of helping event planners and marketers do exactly that. The company’s comprehensive platform helps planners deliver more impactful and memorable events and on the hospitality side of its business, Cvent partners with hoteliers to drive MICE business through its online sourcing platforms and digital marketing tools. With more than two decades in business, Cvent is well-positioned to continue delivering the solutions planners and hoteliers need to reach new levels of success.

Founded in 1999, Cvent is most often known for its comprehensive event management platform - a suite of solutions that automate and simplify the entire event planning process. Event planners and marketers utilize Cvent’s technology for online event registration, venue selection, event management and marketing, onsite solutions, and attendee engagement. Planning and managing meetings and events has historically been a very tedious, manual process. Now, with the help of technology, event professionals are growing their event registration numbers, engaging with their attendees, increasing event satisfaction, and maximizing revenue.

2019 marks our 20th year in business and we are expanding our global footprint, growing our customer base, and hiring employees to support this expansion faster than ever. With more than 1,400 team members dedicated to technology alone, we continue to invest heavily in research and development and enhance our product offerings. Our ultimate goal is to connect hoteliers with planners around the world and help them engage their customers directly, efficiently, and profitably

Cvent offers them the tools they need to optimize each stage of the event lifecycle and grow their ROI.

In 2008, the company launched, the Cvent Supplier Network, now the world’s largest meetings and events venue sourcing database, which was a catalyst to Cvent expanding into the hospitality and travel industry with its Hospitality Cloud platform. Now, the company has thousands of hospitality clients around the world, including major hotel chains, DMOs, convention centres, luxury resorts, and boutique properties, whorely on Cvent’s solutions to help them find new buyers, grow their MICE business, and operate that business profitably.

Through Cvent’s sourcing platforms, hoteliers and venues gain access to nearly 100,000 active event planners who will source more than USD $19 billion in business this year alone. With nearly 2,000 new organisations sourcing on the platforms each month, suppliers have a unique opportunity to engage these new buyers and leverage Cvent’s digital marketing tools to get in front of them and market themselves in a more strategic way. “Our goal is to connect hoteliers with planners around the world and help them engage their customers directly, efficiently, and profitably,” says Chris McAndrews, vice president of marketing for Cvent Hospitality Cloud.

Cvent’s unique ability to power the entire meetings and events ecosystem is driving its global growth. In its 20th year in business, the company continues to invest heavily in technology and enhance the user experience to offer greater value for their clients. Beyond its size, scale, and product innovation, Cvent’s dedication to putting the customer first that makes the company stand out from the crowded event technology landscape. With its innovative solutions and deep industry expertise, Cvent is bringing together hoteliers and planners and transforming meetings and events around the world.
